Tips needed for temporary (rental) RV installation, esp. remote head mounting

    many of RV and truck box are made out of fiber glass, so magnetic mount do not attach. for temporary installation for rental car, so on, I found out suction mount with attached NMO or other antenna mount works best. ( picture attached ) . it is best to use Teflon based lubricant to make suction seal better, I used to use Vaseline to seal suction, but Vaseline melt and runs away when temperature get hot, therefore loose suction seal. but, teflon Based Lubricant does not melt away with high temperature.

    For those who are travelling with another rig that's rented, and want to stay in touch on the road, a portable setup with a mag mount antenna on the opened oven door works quite well for short range. This of course applies to CB as well, in case the traveling companion isn't a ham.
