BPL DIED 04/19/2005 WITH INTEL"S WiMAX CHIPSSET. WHICH WILL
CREATE WIRELESS ACCESS FOR UP TO 20 MILES EST.

The word I just heard from my guy in Las Vegas is that there is a quite a bit of excitement on the WiMax announcements (not just Intel). Of course--the real issue is antennas.

The allusion to distance will require antenna solutions which don't exist in the present marketplace. So your optimism is a bit ahead of fact, but understandable.

WiMax may or may not succeed, and it is not likely that it will replace BPL in most circumstances: the infrastructure for BPL is already in place. WiMax will require quite a build up.

Where WiMax does need to shine is against WiFi--which is doing very well indeed.
