The Stratos Project is coming to completion.

We are using a 1000 gram weather balloon to lift a 1.59 KG payload to approximately 105,000 feet. We will be streaming video via a 70 cm ATV transmitter. The ATV transmitter is transmitting on the old analog cable channel 59. The TV frequency is 434.00 MHz and the audio frequency is 438.50 MHz. The audio is AM. The video will be streamed to YouTube.

To receive the signal, you will need an old analog TV, or a convertor box and a new TV. A directional antenna is recommended for receiving the signal, as the output power will be about 2 watts. To determine where to steer your antenna, you can use this free online calculator: http://cosinekitty.com/compass.html
You can receive the transmitted information from the balloon if you send the audio to your computer and use an amateur radio program to decode the BPSK31. (Callsign KJ4ZWA)

    We are launching from EM84RR.

The APRS is also transmitting at a power output of 2 watts, on a frequency of 144.390 MHz. You can view the output from this transmitter on aprs.fi (callsign KJ4IQS)

The beacon transmitter is transmitting on a frequency of 433.925 MHz at a power output of 16 mW. (Callsign KJ4ZWA)

We will have an HF station at mission control on 40 meters (frequency is to be determined).

VHF communication between the team members might be on a local simplex frequency. We will try to have a radio on the 146.610 MHz. Caesar's Head Mountain repeater as well. (- offset and no PL tone).

Any video recordings will be welcome if anyone wants to record it on their equipment.
