Here is my very modest shack. The entire station including the antennas is located in a first floor recroom. The FT-891 is the main HF rig with the FT-757 as backup. The primary antenna is a dipole cut for 20 meters and fed with 300 ohm line. Works nicely on 60 thru 6 meters with the antenna tuner. The second antenna is a SuperAntenna MP1 vertical used mostly on 80. Anyway, the setup work just fine for what it is (75 countries and 48 states on FT8 and FT4 since May)
one of the things that I notice is that there is very little room left at the front of the desk on most shacks
I don't have a really deep desk but I have things arranged so that I have an open space where I can put the paddle far enough back that my forearm rests on the desk. Important for CW operators, maybe not so much for those that don't do any CW work.
That's why I built 30" deep tops on my desk... 24" is just too small. I do custom furniture if anyone is interested....
