Ah, ok thanks. I wondered why so many photos I saw online showed these really shiny knobs and mine...aren't. If I find a junker for sale cheap at a hamfest with nice knobs some day it might come home as a parts donor. ;)

Oh well, why not? I just update my bio and had the photo. My venerable IC-736 gave out this week so the IC-7300 takes over on all modes now. Have you worked anyone lately who did NOT have an IC-7300? I was skeptical but got a good deal. It's either the VW Beetle or the Swiss Army knife of ham rigs now. IMG_1036.jpg

My rookie shack, cut me some slack I’m 5 months into this, lol.
Left to right, (1976 SBE console II 11M, yes I still use the taboo band, lol, ICOM 718, ICOM 7300, Yaesu 7250 dual band, all run by a Astron RS30m. I run a SM-50 mic on the 7300, and I love Turner SSK mics. It’s a start, I do see an ICOM 9700 in my future, lol.

Eh, I don't have a 7300. Newest rig I have is an FT-817, main rig is an FT-990 and I enjoy AM on my DX-100. :D

Nothing wrong with the 7300, don't get me wrong!

Just put a new rig on the bench today. SX-117, HT-44, HT-45 Loudenboomer amplifier. These took a while to find and refurb. They didn't need much work but the transmitter was really dirty, and had to make new cables for the HT-45 amplifier.
