H40TT, Temotu Province; 17m CW. New one:) I wasn't able to hear this station during most of their time on location, so I'm grateful to get at least one QSO/QSL and a new one!

Snagged 4U1UN last night on 40 CW for #315. I'm glad it's finally back on the air.

what a year i have had when your in the 280 dxcc range it gets very hard and you have to up grade your station. i upgraded my tower bought a new radio ftdx 5000 grabbed a new amp and upgraded my license and the results are there as proof . just off the top of my head some of my new ones in fact some countries i thought i would never work.
4u1un , pj5 saba ,a82x liberia , 3a monaco, 5t Mauritania rwanda burrundi . t6aa afghanistan ,9x2aw uganda and the list goes on. I live in suburbia on a normal house lot 66' 166' my tower is 30ft my antennas are trapped tribander and rotating dipole for the warc bands vertical delta loop for 40m, 80m dipole 160m sloper my station is not mega dollars its built with in a budget and i only really use ft8 where i have to. your thinking my 7300 is a great radio i wont need to upgrade but believe me when i say there will come a day. my 7300 sits on a shelf in my shack unloved for the past 12 months. you will find your self learning cw i have. becoming the dx detective cause you realize you cant only rely of the cluster to get dx spots. i sit on 291 worked 281 confirmed with in coming qsl's expected for anther 6 -8. what a ride its been these last few years 2900 qso's in the log. probably my biggest year of activty in the past few years and we are at the bottom of the cycle. well im not feeling it yes 10m my favourite band does open very far I find my self on 40 30 even 17m chasing the dx and they are open i have only been able to use the warc bands for a year and i have 120 on 30m ,84 on 17 and 25 on 12m all with a dipole. so dont listen to the naysayers work on refining your station and work smarter not harder. good dx
