I'm new here but thought id share what information I have one this radio.
Please forgive the links to the CPS if its against the rules, its not a paid CPS so I don't think its an issue.
It was very hard for me to find it, just trying to help yall out.

This radio is Tier II and works great on both time slots.

2018 DM-5R Plus V3 uses a different CPS and programming cable then the other Baofeng radios.
All other accessories are interchangeable, battery, mics, chargers, etc.

Some things I have found out about the radio so far.
Some of these may be Operator Headspace and timing errors, but i doubt it.

The scan function of the radio doesn't seem to work.
I have tried only analog channels, in a zone/not in a zone, in a scan list/not in a scan list.
    Same with digital channels.
Same with a mix of analog and digital channels.
    All gets a "Scan Forbid".
If you tag the channels with Auto Scan, you get a "Scan Fail".

If anyone figures out what I'm doing wrong, please let me know.

    Other Issues Found:

The manual lists menus that are not in the radio.

In VFO mode, start scanning, when it hits a frequency that is busy you can not get away from the frequency to go to another frequency. When you stop the scan the radio jumps back to the busy frequency.
Power cycling the radio doesn't correct the issue. The only way I have found that works is to remove the antenna, allow the channel to clear for 3 seconds, then change the frequency.

In the CPS, in the VFO 'A' menu it lists RX as a VHF freq and TX as a UHF freq and you are unable to set to just UHF or just VHF. Same for the VFO 'B' side.

The FM radio does not work.

    The LED does not work.

You can not change the DMR radio ID from the handset, you have to use the CPS.

    The CPS software:
    CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+5 = DMR5R

    Using CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F11 = SG009
In the main CPS will open up fields on the Basic Information tab for editing.
    Allows a new Freq range of: 400-520 / 136-174
Also allows you to change the Model and Serial Number.

Interesting, Ryan. I played with that radio, I believe it is (exactly) the same as Radioddity RD5R (other than the logo). FM, LED etc works fine for me, same for the Tier II function. In general I am satisfied.
I will try the scan function later.
I do not like its limited contact ID saving space, though.

Did you ever solve this problem, having the exact same scanning issue on mine.
