The French Quater is over 300 years old has some of greatest restaurants in town to gift shops, antigue shops and night clubs and bands. The French Quarter is the only intact French Colonial and Spanish settlement remaining in the United States. It has been a continuous residential neighborhood since 1718, withstanding hurricanes, floods, fires, yellow fever epidemics, war, neglect, industrialization and commercialization. Its population has varied from 470 people to as many as 11,000. As a registered “National Historic Landmark” the French Quarter has secured an important role in our nation’s history.

*Enjoy Sight Seeing, try the New Orleans Street Cars. The New Orleans street cars are the oldest continuously operating streetcar in the world! The St Charles route is a 13 mile long loop and runs from Downtown Carondelet and Canal streets ride thru the CBD, the Garden District, Riverbend and to the end of the line at Palmer Park at corner of Claiborne Ave. and Carrollton Avenue. The cars turn around at Palmer Park and head back towards the French Quarter. Riding the complete St Charles streetcar loop takes about an hour and a half. Traveling down St Charles Avenue you will see plenty of restaurants and dozens of historic New Orleans mansions. For extra fun you should get off along the way and enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants along the route. Lets not forget the other 3 street car lines, Canal Street Line that goes down to the wonderful City Park and the River Front Line that rides along the Mississippi River. Then finally the Central City Line that goes right thru the heart of the central business district. What a wonderful way to see the city
Oh wait, Lets not forget the Horse Carriage rides that is offer that goes thru the heart of the historic French Quarter..

    * Wonder why approximately 1.5 million people come down for Mardi Gras every year. Then come see who makes the elaborate and beautiful Mardi Gras Floats and costumes (At Mardi Gras World / Kern Studios right on the Mississippi River) Where the the first float was built (back in 1932 ) Walking distance from the River Walk, Aquarium of the Americas, and French Quarter. Mardi Gras World / Kern Studios attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world each year.
