Mode J on an interplanetary satellite mission.

    Shin’en 2 IARU coordinated frequencies:
    • 437.505 MHz CW beacon
    • 437.385 MHz WSJT telemetry
    • Inverting SSB/CW transponder
    – 145.940-145.960 MHz uplink LSB
    – 435.280-435.260 MHz downlink USB

Does anyone have any idea as to what would be the minimum necessary equipment to make this work?

Might be more appropriate in the satellite forum, but the estimate I saw on the AMSAT-BB suggested that it'd require an EME class station given the low power output of the transponder.
