As reported on the T2YY QRZ.Bio site... no details...
Yes, what happened has not been disclosed, but a real tragedy no doubt. Still the two remaining members of the T2YY group were active operating EU yesterday on 14 MHz CW. They say they carry on to honour Ingold's memory.
In fact many dramatic episodes are reported from DXpedtions, but very seldom with fatal consequences. But while some people put their lives at stake, spend time, effort and money on expedtions, others sit at home engaged in hooligan behavior by disturbing the traffic. It is hard to understand their mean mentality.

I'm sure at most of these remote locations, the group realizes that they are hours away from medical attention. This sounds more like a tragic accident rather than a health problem. The only consolation we can take is that "Ingolf" passed doing what he wanted to be doing...R.I.P. & 73 dr Ingolf..... DL4JS de W5BIB.....sk TU dit dit
Correction... "INGOLF" DL4JS...
Very sad news
R.I.P. and 73
