Tait TB9100 -I found one surplus. Does anyone know if this is suitable for ham radio?
What about programming software? Is it obtainable? Maintenance manuals?
Does this radio us "splits" ?
Any help or comments on this radio will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Stan - K7SJB

I'd definitely contact them directly; they're in New Zealand, so be prepared to speak Kiwi.:)

We have some Tait public safety P25 portables at work and they are some tough little radios. If it's anything like them, it's good stuff. They're a lot like Motorola, you'll need a programming cable and software.

We have some Tait TB8100 repeaters in service, they are excellent, top of the line repeaters. The TB9100 seems to be very similar, but different software, etc. Physically, they look very similar. They are a $6000+ radio, if you buy it new.

Yep. Sir Angus Tait, ZL3NL, was a bit of a kiwi hero. Famous quote: "What the hell would I do with fifty million dollars?".
