What an a**hole. Most of us who worked him were happy to work Mt. Athos as SV /A is designated to be that DXCC. I wonder why he did that?
What else is he supposed to get? Get a different call sign? What do YOU do when you operate from another location? Do you resign SQ5EBM and take a new call sign? Give the guy a break.... if he DIDN'T use /A or /P or /M I'd agree that would be considered rude. He just did what all hams must do when not operating "from home" Dave W7UUU
But what other call sign was he supposed to use???? He wasn't at Mt. Athos - does that mean he cannot operate radio from anywhere else? Help me understand - what else could he do? Dave W7UUU
Both Poland and Greece are issuing Hamradio callsigns by regions. Macedonia region, where Mounth Athos belongs and its single HAM resides, is SV2, while SV3 is Peloponnese in the South West of the country. See the map: I am sure that some logging and DX Cluster software will consider every SV call with /A as Mount Athos which is wrong. At the moment only SV2RSG/A is working from there. When in doubt please use excellent Clublog Call tester: https://clublog.org/test.php 73's Boris E73Y
