But where is this marginal SFI we were gonna have for a few days? I would settle for a 72 maybe... But its been 68 for over a week.

In August last year the SFI was as low as 65 for a week!
A solar flux of 75 to 80 gives good propagation on the bands
    Please sun wake up

i remember when flux was over 100, 15 was open almost all night. 20 meters was non stop 24/7.. television interference was off the scale.
40 meters detected thunderstorms in USA and 80 would detect thunder storms all over the world. the good old days .. they were more nets than operators, the DX net would spoon feed you the dx as long as you check in and got on the long waiting list. they were nets to handle other nets, radio clubs were everywhere, The ARRL qsl bureau was very busy and the FCC were very active. i only went back to the early 80s my guess is that on the 60s and 50s it would have been wild.
