It seems redundant to require someone who has listed the same item over and over again over several months to keep producing a picture with a date from within the last 30 days. When the ad first goes live, it has a date within the last 30 days. It has to be or else it's removed. If I list something and I want to pack it up so it's ready to go once someone buys it, it's impractical to keep taking it out to take new pictures every 30 days. Sure, I could just take 5 or 6 sets of pictures of the item with new dates in each one, then switch to the next date when the first 30 days is up but that seems a bit excessive. This rule has driven me to post my stuff for sale in other places. I like posting stuff here because it's more secure than Facebook. So, my suggestion is that as long as an item has a date within the last 30 days the first time it's posted for sale, let the seller use the same pictures in consecutive reposts.
The listing rules for photos evolved to where they are for reasons and won’t be changing. But seriously- anyone who can’t get their item to sell within the 30 day window for the photo dates is probably clueless how much their item is worth! MOST ads sell in a few days at most - many sell every day in minutes but it’s gotta be priced right Dave W7UUU
Sometimes it takes a while until you find someone interested in what you are selling. It's good to take in feedback and get opinions from others before declaring that a suggestion won't be acted on.
The new photo rule isn't even a year old yet. It's doing amazingly well. QRZ is always open to suggestions and yours is appreciated. Dave W7UUU
