I have just passed 100 contacts on 40 meters. 103 to be exact. Was out last night with the XYL for a nice dinner, we went for a walk for about 3 miles this AM and just now, passed that amazing amount of contacts for a stunning result for this contest. Read it and weep! Damn. I'm good!
Yep, 20 and 40 were doing great, but 10 and 15 were open today also. I bagged Japan, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Chile, Belize, Multiple HI stations, Canada, and many US mainland stations, all on my compromise antenna and 100watts. Some stations took several attempts but I got through.
It was great hearing activity on 10 and 15. I bagged VP6R on 15 yesterday, and an hour later got them on 10. An hour after that, nailed 'em on 20. Never got Pitcairn before in all my life, then three times in one afternoon. I hope next weekend will see activity on both bands.
It was fun!! The Sun looked upon us a little bit favorably I should think Can hardly wait for the CW version!!! NOW we're talking!! Dave W7UUU
I should say I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek. I had other things going on so didn't have much time to spend during the day. When that happens I usually just work 40 meters at night and as a single band, can usually do pretty well. Just wasn't motivated this year to operate much. I *MUCH* prefer the CW contest, but I have to work that weekend. I'll still be able to get a few hours in with some luck but nothing major. ................Bob
Well done! I managed 106 contacts in around 7 hours - 12 zones and 35 countries. Not too spectacular - 15 and 20 m using a a vertical for each band. 100 watts output.
