Students from Liceo Mary Graham Visit the National Space Center Ahead of ISS Contact, Prepared by Radio Amateurs A delegation of 30 students learned firsthand about the country's scientific development within the framework of the international ARISS project, supported by the Los Molinos Radio Club. A group of 30 students from Liceo Bicentenario Mary Graham experienced a decisive day in their education this Wednesday by visiting the facilities of the Chilean Air Force's National Space Center (CEN). The activity aimed to connect classroom content with cutting-edge technological development, encouraging vocations in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The initiative is part of the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) project, an international platform preparing students for a historic milestone: establishing a live radio transmission with astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). During the tour of the mission control room and satellite laboratories, the delegation also attended a keynote lecture delivered by space engineer Klaus von Storch, who shared details about the aerospace field and telecommunications. The visit was technically supported by the Los Molinos Radio Club of Villa Alemana (CE2CQ), a key institution in the students' radio communications preparation. Mauricio Jorquera (CA2BPG), treasurer of the organization, highlighted the impact of the experience: "The visit to the National Space Center was spectacular. The high school students, selected for their outstanding performance, were extremely enthusiastic and active participants. For our Radio Club, it is a source of pride to create these opportunities, which complement the work we are doing for the upcoming contact with the ISS and demonstrate that, through education and amateur radio, there are no limits to exploring the future." It's the Chilean Air Force...they just have our old US Army uniforms. That digital camo pattern never worked anyway...had to roll the darn things in field dirt for 3 weeks before they actually did what they were supposed to do
The students just wearing proper clothes. No girl shows one's bellybutton, nobody a tatoo, no piercings in faces or anti-social jogging looks. They are just nice on the photo.
