A severe outbreak of strong earthquakes disrupts shortwave radio services throughout the world. The quake frequency slowed down now, but the ionosphere is weak and propagation is poor, as we file this report.

Interesting is the fact that the 80 m was experiencing "spikes" 3 h before the eruption.

Go to our website to sign up for our daily propagation report based on earthquakes.

What did you experience or are still disrupted by this event? Your civilized comments are welcome!

Wasn't there a decision by @AA7BQ that postings on this topic from the OP would no longer be featured in the NEWS forum?

As a scientist, I was banished from these threads for a month---because I posted Carl Sagan's 'baloney detector' from an explanative video. That post was removed. My voice was silenced.

Zed is invited to re-post that deleted post from May, to see that it was purely intended as informational on ;how to detect fringe and pseudo science==and how to tell the difference between real science from these false approaches...

Yet here is more of the same 'Earthquake propagation' issue, after a decision to ban the topic from 'NEWS'.

Readers would cordially wish an explanation for this, not just a 'like' from W7uuu please.(see post #5).

    Thank you.

Please refrain from comment until Fred @AA7BQ chimes in.

Thread closed to further comment until we hear from the Boss. The last such thread turned into a train wreck.

Just be patient - he'll be along shortly I'm sure :)

Okay, I’ll chime in. This does seem like tin foil hat stuff. The fancy chart tricked me into approving it into the news section.

There is nothing wrong with this discussion apart from people attacking each other verbally.

Please be civil. It doesn’t matter whether an argument has validity when it comes to common courtesy. If you are going to be impolite to this poster, be prepared for the moderators to take notice. Choose your words carefully.

Every person and opinion deserves common respect. That doesn’t mean that you have to agree with the position, but you don’t get to personally attack it’s author.

I thought Dr Sagan's BS detector was very useful.

One time Dr. Sagan said, “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”.

I have always liked his common sense and critical thinking.

I am confused--as I am sure others are as well-- about what you're assuming is happening.

For example, is the hypothesis that earthquakes lead to changes in HF radio propagation, or is it that HF radio propagation changes indicate impending Earthquakes?

What does it mean, in your hypothesis, for: " Interesting is the fact that the 80 m was experiencing "spikes" 3 h before the eruption(of earthquakes)."
