Has anyone ever used one of these? Someone gave me one and I was thinking about putting it on my old Kenwood TR7400. Just an external encoder box circa 1985.

You might see if it is similar to SSC model 237 here: www.repeater-builder.com/other-mfrs/other-mfrs-index.html ( Then scroll down to SSC 237 ).
I did a lot of research on tone encoders and decoders a few years ago. If you run into problems, Midians ( www.midians.com ) seems to be in business. Some of the other manufacturers went out of business. Just do not expect to always find an exact schematic- there were hundreds produced, and some makers wanted to ( and still want to ) keep the diagrams a 'trade secret'.
