Here are some rewrites of popular songs which have been 'tailored' to ham radio. The last one is devoted to the traffic handlers in the group. The rest are CW oriented!

Feel free to submit your songs..

'Keying!'
- to the tune of 'Feelings!'
LYRICS copyright 2003 by K3FT
--------------

Keying…
Working on my keying…..
Striving to improve my..…
Code-sending 'fist'!

Listening…
Many hours listening…
Listening to the rhythm..
Of perfect code!

(chorus)
Keying!
Oh, that perfect keying!
Emulating Y-V-Q!
And Q-A-A!!

Practice!...
Hours spent on straight key!..
Listening to 'A-W'….
Code practice, you see!

Spacing!
Three to one good spacing!
Proper grip on straight key!
Use Navy knob!!

- chorus -
Keying!
Oh, that perfect keying!
Emulating Y-V-Q!
And Q-A-A!!

Rhythm…
Developing good rhythm…
Heeding admonitions…
From Elmers of mine!

Finally...
Queue-so's I am making…
Practicing good sending..
Clean sounding 'fist'!

- chorus -
Keying!
Oh, that perfect keying!
Emulating Y-V-Q!
And Q-A-A!!

THE END!
=============================
'MAGIC STRAIGHT KEY RIDE!'
- to the tune of 'Magic Carpet Ride!'
LYRICS copyright 2003 K3FT
----------------

I like to dream…
Right besides my morse machine.
Where my fingers tap a merry beat..
See double-you can't be beat!

- chorus -
Close your eyes, now!
Give it a try, now,
Let the code take you awayyyyyyyy!

I held that straight key in my hand!
Sent some signals on the band!
With a firm light touch I pound that brass!
With a certain touch of class!

- chorus -
Close your eyes, now!
Listen up, now,
Let the code take you awayyyyyyyy!
========================
"OPERATOR MAN!"
- to the tune 'The Pusher Man'
LYRICS copyright 2003 K3FT
------------------

Man, I sent a lot a'code!
(OH LORD!)
Usin' mah straight key!!

But I never, ever copied..
Code a'usin' my P-C!

=======================
"C-W!"
- to the tune of "Purple Haze
LYRICS copyright 2003 K3FT
---------------

SEE DOUBLE-U!
All in my brain!
Learned the code!....
Thing's ain't the same!...
Contests I'm runnin'...
All them Q's!

Scuze me, while I stop and tune!
(di-di-di-dah… di-di-di-dah!!!!!)

C-W!
All around!
No matter whether you tune up or down!
Anytime.. Day or night!
You'll hear code, you got that right!!

(dah de dahh! Da de dah!!)

C-W!!! Here to stay!
No matter what those 'no-codes' say!
They sneer and make snide comments too!
But while they bitch.. I'm workin' you!

(dah di dahh!! Dah di dahhh!)

Help them!!! Help them!!
OH YESS! HELP THEM!!

C-W….

======================
'And the beat goes on!'
- sung to the tune of the same name by Sonny and Cher
LYRICS copyright 2003 K3FT
-----------

And the beat goes on…
And the beat goes on..

Keys keep sending a'rhythm on the air!
Dah de dah de dah!!!! Dah de dah de dah!

Even kids of 3 can learn to key!
Ages range from 3 to nintey three!
And people operate there more and more!

Straight keyes bugs and keyers by the score!

And the beat goes on..
And the beat goes on!

Etc..

MY FAVORITE SCENE...
----------------------
Music by Rogers and Hammerstein
From 'The Sound Of Music'
Lyrics copyright 2003 K3FT

Look at the clock - see the time away ticking,
Warm up my 'bug' while my traffic I'm checking,
Ready for any and all Q-T-C!
'Cuz I'm a member of the T-C-C!

E-A-N!... THREE-R-N.. C-A-N schedules!
P-A-N Q-N-I! (No, it's no trouble!!)
Q-S-P Q-T-C, Oh yes, indeed!!
All part of being into T-C-C!

- Chorus -

When the net's called,
When I am polled,
When I Q-N-I!.
I answer succinctly that' I'm Q-R-V!
And ready to Q-S-P!

Into the evening and through the night hours,
I meet those skeds that I've set with brass-pounders,
Local and region nets - Oh yes indeed!,
Part of the program we call T-C-C!

My wife lets me do what I do cuz she knows that,
When I'm handling traffic down there in my ham shack,
It makes her quite happy and content, you see,
'Cuz she knows EXACTLY where I'm gonna be!

- Chorus -

When the net's called,
When I am polled,
When I Q-N-I!.
I answer succinctly that' I'm Q-R-V!
And ready to Q-S-P!

(Last verse.. with a flourish and a buildup to the BIG FINISH!)

Pardon me, please!
But I must now be going!
Time for a sked with my T-C-C brother,
Whose waiting to pick up all my Q-T-C,
I'll now sign off with a nice 'SEVEN THREE!'

- Chorus -

When the net's called,
When I am polled,
When I Q-N-I!.
I answer succinctly that' I'm Q-R-V!
(BIGGG FINISH!!!!)

And ready to QUUUUEEEEEE--ESSSSSSSS-PEEEEEE!

Hey! Those are a lot of fun. [IMG] I wish I was that artistic. I liked the Magic Carpet Ride one the best but then I'm a big fan.

DO you realise that the artist who did "Convoy" was " C.W. McCall .Wonder what his initials really stand for ? [IMG]

Chuck --- How could you forget:

To the tune of "Dominique" (aka The Singing Nun Song) -

Calling CQ CQ CQ CQ CQ Forty Phone,
Oh SEEE CUE Forty Phone....
With a hundred-eighty watts
And a dipole that is tops
Callinq CQ Forty Phoooone.

(I think you wrote that one about 1971 or so....)

I would also post the lyrics to my 1972 hit, "3GX, Super Lid" (to the tune of Jesus Christ, Superstar), but maybe three of us (me, you, and AC3P) would remember/get the joke.

Wow, Weird Al Yankovich would be proud. I've allways been envious of you autistic types.

Oh, and BTW, Steve, I'm jealous! " The Voices " haven't been singing to me, lately, much less talking !
