Hi, all. I was given a Kantronics Kam Plus yesterday, but without cables and software. The cables I can make, I think, but my cursory review of the Internet suggests that the best, and maybe only, software option to run this TNC is Digital Desktop, at $150, from the company that sells Ham Radio Deluxe. That is too steep a price for my liking.

What software do you use to run a Kam Plus? I need to run on a Windows 7, 64 bit computer platform. I am interested in running Packet on 2m and PACTOR on HF.

Your help is appreciated. Dave, N8LBF

    DX LAB SUITE
WinWarbler application supports an external TNC Modem, like your Kantronics, for RTTY modes.

I have Kantronics KAM plus modem and connected it to THIS ICM700TY, tried to ram operate CW, surrender I arranged to go through a modem but no reception on the station although I hear that someone is doing the code, frequency is adjusted in the program and at the station. I used WinWarbler, I tried with other softwares but the same situation

The KAM will work just fine with any terminal emulator program. I'e used Hyperterm on Wondows, and Minicom on Linux.

I thought I had the original program Kantronics sold for use with the KAM+. I think it cost $60 which was a lot of money back in the day. But even if I could find find it, it probably wouldn't do you much good because:
    1) The program is on a 3½" diskette. I can't remember a time when I had a computer with a diskette drive. But then again, I can't remember what I ate for breakfast this morning!
    2) It is written for DOS. I think I used it on a Windows 95 machine, but beyond that, I think it might be a lost cause.

I use XPWIN Software to kamplus. TS is OK to see the video, although RS is wrong. I'm receiving a signal and the display shows the letters YJJJQ ... attached video:

I have a couple of floppy drives around just for such instances. :)
