I think it's a play on digging a grave and burying Ten Tec.

I'd like to know if the Omni VII+ was introduced at Dayton. Even a new run of the old rig with a new front panel would be nice. It sounds like the molds were destroyed for the plastic panels on the Eagle and Omni by the liquidators, so punched steel panels were going to be introduced for the new run speculated by Mike Dishop a few years ago.

Pat, you ARE a "High Roller" DXer - you have radios than anyone I know, including a recent big-buck radios like your FTdx-5000! :D

Well, you can’t be a member of a good old-fashioned funeral committee without your shovels, can you? :p

To answer your query... yes. The Omni VII+ was introduced. Just wish I had been able to go and see it in person.

And yes, the molds for the plastic front panels were lost or destroyed when the prior ownership discarded the related equipment. Along with the molds for many other front panels from other rigs no longer in production.

Maybe he meant binary, not decimal?

    Evidently the OMNI VII+ exists.

    Or at least one does.

Anybody visiting Xenia last weekend get to play with it??

Found a different picture, evidently taken at Hamvention:

I like it. It looks very industrial and would look really good in a rack. It really looks about as clean as the K2 and K3. I imagine there aren't a whole lot of changes to the basic architecture, other than a firmware update, to prevent having to resubmit the unit for FCC testing.

I'm hoping we'll get a re-release of the Rebel and Patriot with a modern microcontroller. Those were neat little radios and there was a good community around them.

    What's on 10.683.000, anyway ? I tuned there and didn't hear anything.

The new offering is full of exciting new functions like General Coverage.
