Just found out that Glenn WB2JAY passed suddenly in January 2026. Glenn was an avid VHF/UHF contest participant here for many years grid FN30 in Northport, Long Island the next town over from me in Smithtown. We would chat during the contests when we needed a break and also shared amateur radio information about antennas, equipment and amps. One memory I have from a VHF contest was on 6M, the band opened and Glenn and I worked a pile up for over two hours together trading contacts with all that were calling. Glenn will be missed.
All of us in FN30 enjoyed his company during the vhf/uhf contests. As David mentioned above, we would all chat at different times during a contest to relieve some tiredness and yap for hours forgetting all about the test lol. Sadly we are losing more and more in our age bracket. R.I.P. Glenn!
I was very saddened to hear this last night on the NEWS Group 144.250 MHz net. Glenn was a very nice man and I enjoyed the friendly competition we both enjoyed in the VHF Contests in the SOLP-Analog category. Glenn will be missed! Chris, WB2VVV FN41 in Rhode Island
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Glenn. He was my consistent FN30 contacts on four bands during the VHF contests. I know that he was dealing with town issues regarding his antenna and he finally got things cleared up. RIP Glen, WB2JAY!

I am so sorry to hear about Glenn’s passing. I had many interesting conversations with Glenn, both over the air and in person at Schuylkill Amateur Repeater Association Meetings. He was a regular check-in to the Schuylkill County Emergency Preparedness Net and the Schuylkill Amateur Repeater Association Ragchew Net. I’ve missed hearing him this year, and wondered if he had moved permanently back to Long Island. Rest in Peace, my friend! Larry, WR1B
Just ran across this. Man I'm sorry. Glenn and I used to hang out together when we were teens, often stayed at my house (his home situation was not great). Met him on the local NTS traffic nets. Ran into him a couple of times on HF when I got back on the air from Alaska (originally from Huntington c/s WB2IDP). RIP OM
