You'll get there: "C'monnn......"
Well, I can do AM with the IC-7300 but I'm PW on the WA1QIX SDR online, so I don't try to be heard.
To remedy that, here's one of my two non-working Apaches finally being brought to life, so the shack is in disarray.
Tomorrow, I may find out why I have no audio, wish me luck.
The 7300 will do 25 watts, that is enough to be heard if you have a good antenna.
It often happens you will not be heard close, but you might be quite strong 500 miles away.
Listen for a strong signal calling CQ and give the person a call.
I have upgraded 3 Apaches and two pre-Apaches so far so if you need any help, just holler!
Thanks, I sincerely appreciate that and may take you up on it! 73 Tryon
What is a pre-Apache?
My guess is that a pre-Apache is a DX-100. No offense to the Apache owners but speaking for myself, I wish Heath had kept the gray and silver styling.
Better still, kept 160m on the Apache.
The DX-100 had 160 to 10 meters capabilities.
I wish the Apache had been simply called the, "DX-200" with a 160 to 10m VFO.
Slowly adding to my AM setup.
SX-100 which is currently paired up with a TR-4 as the transmitter.
But I have purchased a Ranger which needs some TLC. Hopefully the transformers are ok
