The only buzz-kills I've ever heard, and continue to hear, is the old timers carrying on about their various ailments. Please, keep your personal issues personal. Other than that, most activites on the bands have been pretty open other than arrogant net ops claiming ownership of frquencies. Besides that, things seem pretty goood.

Rick, most of the time a "slur is a slur" no matter where you are. Can you think of any examples of when you might attack someone of a different race and have it be perfectly acceptable to others in another part of the country or world? I'm not able to. Of course, I'd appreciate it if you used any examples to use only the mildest kind of thing here in reply. Thanks, Dave

I wish that were the case, I really do. You don't find certain frequencies on 80m or 40m to be filled with craziness?

Enjoy these articles. I read them while waiting for the bands to open up at night. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Chris, I’m generally on the air mid-day as 40 and 80m are so noisy at night, Dave

I'm not sure Amazon readers are qualified to critique a S/W transceiver. It does by the way meet FCC guidelines so for mobile service it should be fine. Would I hook it up to an amplifier for home use... likely not But for $239 it's quite a nice rig. It isn't sold as a CB, but can be converted to cover those freq's. Interesting SW listening at times when 10 isn't quite open. Not being Midland, ICOM, Kenwood, Yaesu. it suffers because it's not a $500-$1000 rig.

Have had a First Class Radiotelephone License since the mid 70's and made my career in Radio Engineering for more than 35 years. Obtaining high acclaim from co-workers for the guy with answers. I don't know everything, but am comfortable in my comments about the Anytone AT-6666.

Another thing that is a buzz killer is when a new ham (in this case, younger) is excited for his first QSL card (6m) and the curmudgeons from the radio club tell them that it doesn't count because it's digital (FT8). It doesn't have to be your particular flavor of the hobby, but celebrate a kid getting involved.

Thanks Del, you're sure right there. The first few weeks and perhaps 6 months of a new ham's radio interests are critical. That's when support is needed, positive encouragement. Dave, W7DGJ
