    Shane Alan Fross was born July 1, 1970, in Denver to Edna M. and James J. Fross of Bethune.

    Following a fight with cancer, Shane passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

    Shane grew up in "The Settlement" north of Bethune, graduating from Burlington High School in 1988.
    He earned a Petroleum Engineering Degree at Colorado School of Mines and his first job was with Anadarko Petroleum in Liberal, Kan.

    He met the love of his life, Bridget Knapek, while she was working in Perryton, Texas.
    They were married on July 1, 1995, and their first home was in Houston, Texas.

    Shane was the proud father of four children, James, Shaneann, Tristan and Xavier; the couple suffered two miscarriages.

    Shane worked in the oil/gas industry for more than 30 years - 28 years with Anadarko Petroleum and over two years with Whiting Petroleum.

    During that 30 some years the family lived in Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Canada, England, and Montana.
    Shane had many hobbies; he tried to learn a new skill every year. Numbered among his interests were fishing, reloading, clay pigeon shooting, ham radio, painting, and marble carving.

    Leading by example, both personally and professionally - he loved life and enjoyed making a difference in the lives of his children.

    Preceding him in death were his father, James L. Fross, nephew Bradon Weber and two unborn children.
    He is survived by his wife, Bridget, his children, James, Shaneann, Tristan and Xavier, his mother Edna and sister Susan M. Hipley.

    Monday, July 26, 2021, at 11:15 a.m. there will be a funeral Mass for Shane, preceded by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 900 West Midway Blvd., Broomfield.

    A reception will follow the service with interment taking place at 2:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery, 6739 S. Boulder Road, Boulder.
