Looks like the scammers are with us still. Yesterday I asked a seller if he would take $200 for a FT-2DR. He declined. Today I get an email from someone else offering that very radio for $200. He has no call sign and no address.

    Keep alert, folks.

    The email text is:
I have for sale a Yaesu ft 2d handheld in a perfect working condition.
Comes with manual, shipping box, charger and battery . Asking $200 shipped.
Let me know if you are interested.

    His email address is:

The full email, complete with all email headers is posted below.

From appearances, only if you expose yourself to them.

If you had made contact with the seller by private message or email, the scammer would not have known to contact you.

I had already tried to contact the seller by email at his QRZ email address, but he did not respond to the email. Short of USPS mail there appeared no other way to contact him but to use the for sale forum.

As long as the scummers can still read the classifieds,

AND they have an account here on QRZ (and I'm sure that they do, likely several, maybe many) they can see your email address on your profile page.

The rest is, as they say, history.

By the way Loyd (Fred?), you seem to have 'outed' your private email address by posting all those headers.

yup. I posted looking for an older model Kenwood mobile and he contacted me from
I looked up Raymond Faircloth on QRZ but no email listed.
When I asked the person emailing me what his paypal email was, he replied ""
    Alarm! Alarm! Alarm!

I replied asking for photo of radio with the callsign on it. Crickets.

Watch out for this guy. Anybody know how to warn the real Raymond Faircloth that his identity is being used?
