ARRL-registered Instructor Clint Bradford, K6LCS, will be
presenting his "Working Amateur Satellites With Your HT"
multimedia session at the May 15, 2018 regular monthly
meeting of the Desert RATS amateur radio club of Palm
Springs, California. All are welcome to attend.

“Present schedules show we'll have a couple of workable passes
of satellites that evening,"Clint reports. “And the club promised
my wife and I dinner at Manhattan’s of the Desert beforehand: I simply
could NOT turn down this speaking request!”

An attendee of Clint’s session at the club a couple years ago wrote:
"Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the great FM-ham
satellite demonstration. The SO-50 downlink of only 250 milliwatts
was awesome to listen to ... When you consider the science and low
power --- hard to put into words --- but you had the crowd all smiles!”

The Desert RATS club celebrates its 20th year as an ARRL
Affiliate Club this year and truly embraces every facet of its mission
statement: Members are CONSIDERATE of all hams; LOYAL
to their community and ARRL; PROGRESSIVE by keeping abreast
    of new technologies; probably the FRIENDLIEST club you’ll ever visit;
respecting LIFE BALANCE, sharing ham activities without interfering with
family/job/school/community responsibilities; and are PATRIOTIC by
always being available for its region in times of need.

Talk-in repeater in the region is the 146.940- 107.2 machine.

Meetings start promptly at 7 p.m. and are held at:

Palm Springs Fire Department Training Center
    3000 E. Alejo Rd
    Palm Springs, CA 92262

If you’d like to preprogram your radios for the passes during the evening,
Clint has a frequency list (and tutorial) posted on his satellite Web site at:

He always welcomes questions before his presentations. Leave him a voice-
