Unless it is specifically targeted to US, I think a common frequency should be chosen to include region 1 and other regions. Cause we can't transmit on 3.916MHz on region 1
Will listen to it, only family I have are my six cats and I don't think they would want to talk to Santa.
For those of you who can't hit 80 meters, you can try this. https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/2024-sota-santa-on-the-air.935837/#post-7003013
Wow! So much excitement, support, and enthusiasm to LIE to children! What's the point? To perpetuate mythology? To have your child made a fool of when adamantly insisting to classmates that Santa is real- because their trusted parents (that know everything) told them so, only to discover later that they were actively in on the hoax? What lies will be made up to explain how the rich kid down the street was rewarded more from Santa (obviously they were better behaved)- even though he's/she's a jerk? Do we want to instill some fairytale notion of magical rewards falling from the sky, that later manifest themselves in lottery tickets or dreaming of some receiving a fortune someday from an unknown rich uncle? Does this make us a bit more susceptible to believing the lies we want to hear from manipulative politicians (and maybe even religious/cult leaders)? Keep it simple! These gifts are from us (parents, relatives, friends, etc.) because we love you, want to be truthful (and be trusted), want you to understand how things work in the world, etc. The spoiled obnoxious brat that got tons did so because their parents had more disposable income (or more maxed-out credit cards!), not because they were necessarily 'better'. Don't count on a lottery or rich relative making your way in life- take your own initiative. And for the record, I had many happy Chrissy's (as the Aussies call it) as a child! Great gifts! Great gifts from mom, dad, etc. When I asked my parents if the Santa thing was real, they said 'Of course not', with a smile. For all my parents' faults and shortcomings, lying to me wasn't among them. I trusted them, and they deserved it. I very much appreciated the truth from them- they could be wrong, but never deceiving. The tooth I once placed under my pillow had the expected results. No trauma, just a childhood experiment that confirmed my understanding of how the world worked. I suspect that I'll catch a lot of crap for this, but I'll also bet that this resonates for some. The choice is yours, but make it a thoughtful one. Don't assume that the way your parents did things is the only or right way (or society for that matter)- think for yourself! 73 and happy xmas / winter solstice holiday! Rob VA3RTG
A lot of people don't have access to the part of 80m being used. We can't TX above 3.800 MHz in Europe
