Sanford M. Loucks Baer, KC2IDX SK Sanford M. Loucks Baer October 25, 1958 ~ July 10, 2018 (age 59) Cobleskill- Sanford M. Loucks Baer, 59, of High Street, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Born October 25, 1958 in Rockville Center, NY, he was the son of Doris (Mernoff) Baer and the late Leonard Baer. Sanford received his bachelor’s degree at University of Buffalo and was currently a Sr. Loan Specialist for USDA Rural Development in the Schoharie office. A Ham radio operator, he was a member of the Ham Radio Club and a collector of radios and cameras. In his spare time, Sanford enjoyed the family camp in Lewis County, spending time with his dog and visiting garage sales. Cherishing his memories are his wife of thirty years, Desiree Loucks Baer; his two children: Samantha Loucks Baer of Schenectady and Daniel Loucks Baer of Cobleskill; his mother, Doris (Mernoff) Baer of Tampa, FL; his siblings: Roberta Baer of Tampa, FL, Mitchell (Sheryl) Baer of Fairfax, VA and Jonathon (Lois) Baer of Los Altos, CA; his father and mother-in-law: Arnold and Donna Loucks of Castorland, NY; sister-in-law, Andrea Loucks of Palmyra, NY; his aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service that be held at 12PM on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Ave., Schenectady, NY 12309. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be held privately for the family at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
