Hot dog! Been looking for any on CW, and I've got 8 of them so far. If I see one spotted, I pounce! I just could not do the 5WPM pileup that was on last night for a while. I had no idea how hard a slow CW pileup would be!

I saw W6D spotted on 40M FT8 this morning, but no copy. Same when he popped up on 20M later - nothing. :(

Still, this is one of the two best annual special event weeks in the hobby, along with 13 Colonies. I look forward to both, and am really getting to like the Lewis and Clark Trail OTA event too.

Thanks again to all the Ops that make this happen!

Keep seeing spots for W6O and listed as RT66. A lot of people never go to the web site to see it is not in use this year.

I really have to wonder at the motivation behind impersonating a callsign.

What could possibly be their motive?

Got real lucky last night. Worked my last two. Not only getting Q once but twice. SSB and then CW. Later I did a Cluster search for J. Showed the day before he was on 14.033. So I went there, saw a signal, turned out to be J calling CQ. I think I was the first to work him. As they say, timing is everything.

There has been two over the past 5 decades that for whatever reason I was 'camped out' on a frequency doing something else when I've heard a CQ ... and it was a 'most wanted' DXpedition. And I was first!

And almost immediately afterward, the mayhem ensued.

    Fun when that happens!

When I am working FT8 if my station sends a RR73 or 73 depending on the timing, then I log it regardless. Our CW operator has been getting swamped with contacts on 20m, he is having a ball.

I also typically log on RR73 UNLESS it's a weak link.

Then I will wait to see if I get a 73 or another signal report.

I’m trying to work any of the Oklahoma stations from my location in Oklahoma, I can here them on 40m but not strong enough to work guess I’ll have to use 80m ?

Less often than the others... followed by "Q"...

Might work... if THEY use 80 too! I think I've seen only one of them on 80.

Yes I heard only one, one time a few days ago on 80 using my portable dipole antenna inside that only tunes to 40m.I heard him strong enough even on that setup to work him!

I should be asking and should know what distance 80 and 40 are for short range day and night so I can work out which of the Oklahoma stations I have the best chance of working on which band day or night, sorry for going off the thread.

Should I use my end fed half wave for 80m or my ground mounted quarter wave vertical17ft loading coil and radials for 80m?

Congrats. I'm still waiting for W6D either SSB or CW. Last day.
