Sucks up here in Washington State too. Even local rag chewers are hard to copy... :(

Sue is coming over tomorrow morning to try and get the 160/80/40 dipole up in the pine tree. The Ecuaptus it is now is due to be cut down at any time now. Shame!! It is 60ft high and the pine is only 40ft. So it will almost be a NVIS antenna, but I need it working good for the VP6R Pitcarin DXpedition next month.

Just happened upon W6O yesterday on 20 meters about 10:30 central time on SSB. I was surprised he didn’t have a big pile up. Came right back to me. I know the others will probably not be this easy.

Its been a good but long LONG day on the air! I am down to 5 to go! I have heard all 5 too, but couldn't get thru to them.
W6C, W6F, W6J, W6K, W6Q will finish it. I am seeing many posts on DX Summit with 4 and 5 area stations thanking the stations for the Sweep, so some are done!
I was on from just after noon till 8PM, thats a LONG DAY! But 5 is doable if I spend the next several days on the radio 24/7! But I have 2 Radio club meetings to attend, have to make some Chili, and go to the painting class on Thursday. and then there is the ARES meeting Saturday. Will be glad when its over, so I can get back to life!
    PHEW!!!

You're doin' great Pat. I am down to only three to go, D, I and K, so we have the latter in common. Come on, get ur kicks on Rte 66 in OK city!

Usually I can work what I hear (with the QRO on) but really had to fight a long time for J tonight on 40m FT8. The whole "watering-hole" was sloppy overflowing FULL!

I saw hundreds of stations calling W6J on 40M FT8 last night but never got a copy on him, so I couldn't call. Heard him on 40 LSB before he went to FT8. Congrats on getting him! Normally W6K is one of the easiest to work, but very slim copy on SSB,CW or FT8 this year, I should have a pipeline into Chicago for W6Q, but very light this year.

Something strange happened around 0000Z. It was like there was a Solar Flare. All the signals on 40M disappeared, even FT8!! Then a few hours later they recovered and I nailed a few more. I ran the full gallon on FT8 calling several but no luck. 40M FT8 was a MADHOUSE!! Even 30M is getting very crowded. 20M is always a mess. Also having to deal with High Powerline Noise. but for some reason, the G5RV doesn't have the noise the 160/80/40 dipole has. Not sure whats up with that. The ANC4 didnt help either.

Went upstairs to watch some movies (but monitored DX Summit on the bedside Computer) and wound up running downstairs several times to try and work ones I needed. Most of the time there was no copy. I finally threw in the towel about 9PM and went to sleep.

All yesterday on the VFO knob, but finally broke through around 7pm PST with a very faint QSO with W6S.
Conditions are pretty dismal here in the Pacific Northwest... :(
