I have had some equipment in storage for "a while". I used the original cartons, well taped. Then, to prevent bugs, etc., from finding a new home, I wrapped them with the strechable shipping film that can be bought by the roll at places like Homey Depot. Recently, an unboxing event was had and all was safe and still bug free.

A "controlled climate" storage facility is where I would place them.

The proper cardboard box to use is the one the rig came in, and, then you should double box the rig. You did save the original box, didn't you?

If you don't have that box, double box it as best you can with lots of padding such as bubble wrap.

For some reason, movers have a tendency to confuse electronics, especially ham radios, with footballs and basketballs. Maybe it is because we have a ball on ham radio.

Good luck with the move. I hope it is a painless and joyful experience.
