    Richard Walter Berkemeyer
    (April 5, 1926 - March 10, 2018)
Richard Walter Berkemeyer, known to most as 'Dick' left us this month after almost 92 years on this earth. His incredible life is celebrated by his three sons, Robert, Thomas and Lee as well as his many friends in St. Louis, Guam and Phoenix. Dick was raised in St. Louis and Ely, Minnesota. His love of the water was found there and resides still in his boys. Dick or 'Berk' as he liked to be called, earned his Electrical Engineeering credentials and put them to use in WWII as a radio communications officer on the battleship New Jersey in Japan. Dick expanded his horizons as far as the moon with his later contributions to the Gemini and Apollo programs in aerospace.

Dick's loves were Ham Radio and sailing, both of which he continued until the end of his days. His boys are carrying on with those loves today and will tell his tales into their futures.
