Some very sad news.... I’ve just heard that Rev. George Dobbs died early today from pneumonia that wouldn’t respond to antibiotics. He was suffering from Dementia too. A great friend...I attended his retirement service and party in Rochdale a few years ago. His church was absolutely packed! RIP George! Rob G3XFD
I met George once and stayed at a holiday place he owned in Wales. It is sad to hear that he is no longer with us. He made a large contribution to QRP operating and was a lovely person. He will be missed by the amateur radio fraternity. Roger G3XEK.
It was very sad news to hear of the passing of Rev. George Dobbs. He must have given a great deal of inspiration to many Hams to have a go at building some of his simple yet very cleaver ideas on radio, myself included. I would have love to have had the chance to meet him, but that is now gone. RIP George. de John - G0WXU.
