    Hello everyone.
I recently got an old AEA PK-232MBX at a local ham auction for about $6. It has the most recent firmware on it though I have not gotten all the cables yet to hook it up to a pc and my radio.

Anyhow, I know I can interface with it with a terminal program which is no problem. What I'm wondering is if anyone came up with a replacement for the PC-Pakratt II software that originally came with it. From what I can see you can do FAX and Navtex with the device but you need the software. I may be wrong as I haven't gotten the cables yet to hook it up (waiting until after the new year) to play with it yet. Just curious if anyone came up with a replacement software package.

    Zach -

WriteLog for Windows was still supporting AEA PK-232.

    XPWare for Windows

The Ham Radio Deluxe (HRD) owners retired their earlier software offerings (Packatt, CSS closed-down). You can quiz Rich Ruhl, W4PC one of the owners.

They were suppose to expand Digital Master 780 for Timewave/AEA/Kantronics controller support, BUT I have not seen any notices about this development.

Timewave has been advertising in QST since May 2018 it's newest updated program "PK-PakRatt Terminal Program for Windows". So far it's just vaporware. I call them at least once a month and ask them when will it be released? They always say soon, soon. Yeah right...

If you add the SC, Sound Card option and USB option, you can use the device to interface with radios and operate all digital modes with rock solid RFI free interfacing!

You revived my posting “from the dead”, three (3) years ago.
I would guess that Erik Gawtry, WCØWWC is trying to update the old DOS PakRatt package for Windows 10 environment.

Rick Ruhl, W4PC is gone from Ham Radio Deluxe (HRD) in January 2017.
His old CSS company was shuttered in 2012 before purchasing HRD.
Last I heard, he moved to California and left amateur radio biz.

The HRD operations were moved to Prosper, Texas — then close to Mike Carper, WA9PIE
when he worked in Dallas for J.C. Penney and Radio Shack.
Recently at Sears (not far from you), before bankruptcy.
