    Well I got rid of my repeater for a TS-140, Now what?

    Nice. My first HF rig was an old boat anchor also. Yaesu FT-101B. Man, that thing had some power. Like 150 watts. I got a lot of good signal reports on that, and it was a pretty classy looking rig. I forget which one the TS-140 is. Did that have a digital display or analog?

    an FT-101 was a BOAT ANCHOR? Shucks, that's one o them thar newfangled Japanese transmaceivers. An HT-32 is a boat anchor.

    LOL, the truth behind why they made rigs so heavy back then was hams were self-conscous about their weight and when the felt how heavy their rigs were they didn't feel so bad. J/k. Tie a rope around an ham and it'd work fine as an anchor. Hehehe, though it wouldn't work in salt water I guess.

    i do like the new rigs. but having an old tube rig would be awesome. i like boatanchors!
