OK - I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's noticed a change. I moved here from California 15 years ago, and the activity has dropped in both places I think. I was involved in putting up the 146.64 machine in the Bay Area in the late 60's.

I guess we can discuss the causes of this malady in hopes that it will help us understand how to fix it, but I am really hoping for some ideas on what we can do to reverse the trend.

Is there anything we can do to return the 'wow' appeal of 2 meters? I've played with the Internet repeater linking, though not IRLP, and I thought it had a lot of promise, but there, too, the distant repeaters I connected with were often as empty as our local ones. I'm sure glad I know the code so I can at least understand the IDers.
