I just installed a new IC-706 in my little SUV. With all the curves and items on the dash today it was rather hard finding just that right spot to mount the detachable faceplate that would allow it to be seen, operated and detached easily.
I found the little RAM -111 flexible mounting system. The mounting plate is just slightly smaller than the faceplate of the 706MKIIG and makes an ideal mount.

The quick release feature makes it easy to reposition the faceplate for glare at anytime. And the base will mount almost anywhere you want it with plenty of support.

The product is very well made and should last a long time. They make a full line of mounting hardware and were very helpful with suggestions on the phone and email. And these products can really simplify an otherwise problem installation.
