    Rainer Maria Oebels Obituary
    March 14, 1954 Dommershausen, Germany

    January 16, 2025 - Banff, Alberta

    It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rainer Oebels. Rainer passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 16, 2025, while hiking in the Canadian Rockies with his wife Annemone.

    Rainer was born in his ancestral home in Dommershausen, Germany. Rainer will be fondly remembered by his large family and friends that survive him, both here in Canada, as well as in Germany.

    A Celebration of Rainers Life will be held for close family and friends at McInnis and Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at Rainer and Annemones home.

    Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Oebels service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
