Lake Forrest 15 years ago. Forty years ago, when it was El Toro, we used to shoot 22 rifles by the little pond that is now in the middle of town. Times sure do change.
Yes... I moved to North County San Diego in 92 and my in-laws lived in Anaheim, so lots of travel thru the El Toro "Y". I remember when the construction was finally done in the late 90's - 26 lanes of traffic at one point! I wonder if the locals still call the Irvine Spectrum, the Irvine Rectum?
Growing up on Long Island, we had EdLee Electronics in Levittown, which I think moved there from radio row. I remember going there in the 70's and 80's, lots of "junk".
It was Cortland St, which now terminates at the world trade center, tho Cane ST also, but Cortland was both sides of the street radio stores all the way to West side hwy.... Much later i remember a Nike Ajax section cabinet fer sale on Canel, brought back memories, I taught a class on that thing years b4 @BLISS...
Long before the Spectrum was the rectum it was Lion Country Safari. Do you remember OCIR across the freeway? It was over by El Toro MCAS.
