Here is a post you may enjoy that I created a while back on It includes lots of pictures and links related to Radio Row and Cortlandt Street, etc

One of my favorite pics is of people standing in front of Morel's at 185 Washington listening for news on the JFK assassination.

Ha Ha! I know you're correct. They feel pretty main when you have to put them together. The chunks are heavy enough. :p

The whole Radio Row on Cortlandt Street was forcefully taken by eminent domain and razed to make room for the World Trade Center. Following 9/11 I mourned for the 3000 innocent lives needlessly taken by that act of terror, but I didn't shed a tear for those buildings.

Looks like the R-Vac in Lake Forest back 15 years ago. Going down certain aisles could be a life threatening event if there was an earthquake!

How in the world did they find room for the concert?

mmmm, I believe that is Sideshow Bob, formerly of the Simpsons! :) Below, he is shown finding parts to repair an old radio for Bart and Lisa; note the trademark jumpsuit and hair! The cabinet at lower right is a wooden storage box for HRO tuning coils, recognizable to any National aficionado.
