Nice try, but Comet beat you to it. This has been available for years https://www.nevadaradio.co.uk/amateur-radio/antennas/base-antennas/comet-cha-250bxii I'm sure it does at VHF, but how big a screen would you need to be able to view the 50MHz wide display meaningfully? At VHF there could be some super-strong signals around that the barn-door front-end won't like, surely?
