I just found a new freeware piece of amateur radio related software. Radio Mobile Deluxe, Freeware by VE2DBE. This is a tool used to predict the performance of a radio system... <table border="0"> <tr> <td> <CENTER> <FONT SIZE=-2> Brocken 70cm relay coverage (Germany) from DG8AT </FONT> </CENTER> </td> <td VALIGN="TOP"> It uses digital terrain elevation data for automatic extraction of path profile between a transmitter and a receiver. This data is added to system, environmental and statistical parameters to feed the Irregular Terrain Model radio propagation model. Elevation data is also used to produce virtuals maps in the background. </td> </tr> </TABLE> It will produce maps with a number of formats. The software also provides 3D views, stereoscopic views, and animation. The background picture can be merged with scanned map, satellite photo or military ADRG data. Elevation data for most of the world is available. This software is available free from the Official Radio Mobile WEB Site. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
