Try as I might I can't find a net or organization of former and current commercial radio air talent and program directors who are also hams. We'd have a lot to talk about. If you have ever worked in commercial radio and would be interested in such a net or organization, please contact me.

I was in commercial radio in the Myrtle Beach, SC area from 1978-1990. Those were some wild times! [IMG]

I was a josh dickey (as the inimitable Gary Owens puts it) from 1977 to 1992, all over the Western States.

Of course, I didn't get my ticket until 1983, but....

My vanity call came through today, I'm waiting for my QRZ username to be changed. My new call pays homage to my favorite station I worked at, KDLX-AM in St. George, Utah from 1986 to 1989.

    My new call is K7DLX.

    73!

I had my 1st Class Commercial RadioTelephone Operators License for YEARS before I got into ham radio! I spent over a decade behind a microphone ( other than a ham one, that is! ) and must admit that I miss it quite a bit!

However, now on ham radio, I hardly ever touch a microphone, and really love the digi modes! I guess that is a reaction, in a wierd sort of way, of my "professional" years behind the mic! I have no other explaination! [IMG]
