RAC Will Not Attend Hamvention this Year

Last year it rained, it just smelled like mud. I'll take it! (I'll be dragging my arse there this year, again)

 

Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC), the national association for amateur radio in Canada, has voted to cancel plans to attend and operate a booth at Hamvention in Ohio. The organization cited heightened tensions between Canada and the United States as contributing to its decision.

I thought we all got along great with the folks north of the border.
After all, we play all those great Gordon Lightfoot songs!

Doubt anyone will notice their absence.

 

My first thought was that this had to be a late Poisson d'Avril or a satirical post... turns out it's not.

I'd betcha apples to oranges that they won't be the only IARU society pulling a no-show for political reasons (whether one agrees with their reasons or not being a different subject altogether). I'd betcha that international attendance overall will be significantly down this year, as well.

Unfortunate. Not surprising, though.

 

If other companies want to act like children and not show up, it will still be a good Hamvention!

 

Isn't that the one next to the MFJ booth? It should be easy to find!
