Thanks for all of the comments folks. I have to say that I was grateful that Art agreed to the interview. I loved meeting him and of course, I keep doing the podcast because of the great hams that I get to speak with every week.
I miss Art, I started listening to him back in the 90s, great man. I even heard from my friends on 3.916 that he used to frequent that net before he passed away. I wasn't a HAM then, I kept putting it off and now it's too late to have a QSO with him.
Sounds like many of you didn't spend much time listening to the W6OBB parties on 3840khz about 20 yrs. ago.....pretty wacky !

Art had a caller who was asserting that the US Moon Landings were faked. Had the guy claimed that he learned this from aliens, Art would have respectfully queried the guy about the alien encounter. Instead the guy asserted that it would be impossible to transmit sound and images from the Moon via radio. Art immediately interrupted the caller, to explain how amateur radio hobbyists routinely do something more difficult by bouncing signals off the moon to communicate with others on earth. When the caller started to object Art hung up on him in disgust.

That’s not my wife at all. She is who she is, was born that way. Exploiting individuals that are different was a common thing in circuses years ago. Psychics are not all knowing, they are given information they are supposed to receive, and it’s not always what you want to hear or what you would think. When I was still working with $75 grand in debt with 10 years to get out of debt and retire, my wife told me I would retire in a couple months. I told her she was crazy, that’s impossible. Two months later, General Electric bought me out. I paid off all my bills and retired. Yeah I was shocked.
I haven't seen anywhere that the government is refusing to let you speak out against it. Is this something new? Because that's what your 'freedom of speech' is. Not having some private entity tell you that you can't say one thing or another. You sign up, you agree to a terms of service. Private and public companies have zero to do with your freedom of speech. "The First Amendment provides that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Thinking otherwise is your own right to Freedumb of Speech. Ther are some times when even the government doesn't give you freedom of speech. To Wit: "First, the government may generally restrict the time, place, or manner of speech, if the restrictions are unrelated to what the speech says and leave people with enough alternative ways of expressing their views. Thus, for instance, the government may restrict the use of loudspeakers in residential areas at night, limit all demonstrations that block traffic, or ban all picketing of people’s homes. Second, a few narrow categories of speech are not protected from government restrictions. The main such categories are incitement, defamation, fraud, obscenity, child pornography, fighting words, and threats. As the Supreme Court held in Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), the government may forbid “incitement”—speech “directed at inciting or producing imminent lawless action” and “likely to incite or produce such action” (such as a speech to a mob urging it to attack a nearby building)." Wanna go for a ride..? I listened to Art all my life. What a show! Shame Clear Channel came in and turned everything upside down. Insomnia has been an affliction since I was a child. When an Alien tells ya something you can take that to the bank.... I talked with Art, one time in the early 90's , 10m FM , I answered his CQ. He worked a few stations and then moved on. Nice guy and at the time I had no idea who he was but later found out when his show was carried on 550am. His audio on the Ham Bands was as good as his show audio. Too bad one of the psychics didnt warn him about pain killers
Art and I spent a lot of time together. I worked a lot of late shifts as a rural Florida deputy just like WN9ZWC. He was a constant companion. He was an AMAZING talent. One of the great personalities of radio. I like to sit up late on Saturday's and listen to the old programs when they rerun.
