Then please explain to me how it gets so dang cold in Alaska. It's at about the same latitude as I am and I sweat like a pig this month!
I do have 3D2AG in the log on 3 bands though - and he always has a good signal in the southeast US. Worked the 3D2USU special event station over the last couple weeks too; when it's over I'm gonna send away for their special QSL card.
Thanks agn for the podcast Eric. Antoine, it was nice to hear your story here. I'll look for you on 80 via cw and phone
I have a few ties wit Fiji, worked 3D2MP / Mike and 3D2TS / Phill / And designed a cellular network for many islands, nearly 30 years ago, however, never got to go there...(Designed all in a cubical in Herndon, VA)! I hope to work 3D2AG / Antoine in the near future..>! DE NN2X / Tom
Antoine has given many a DXer Rotuma and other rare DX. We all thank him for his efforts to help the Deserving! 73 Chip W1YW
Yes the text above from 4Z1UG needs to be changed as it is incorrect "from Fiji, the largest Island in the South Pacific and the second largest island in the World next to Australia. "
It could be a continent however as per definition, it is is also an Island. Island = a piece of land surrounded by water.
I am so glad that I could set off a vigorous discussion about geography using my imprecise American use of the English language. As a result, and I standing corrected, we now know what are Islands in the World, and where they are. This again re-enforces the fact that amateur radio is foundational to learning just about any subject. Hi HI.
Club Log has me at 10 QSO's with 3D2AG from 17m to 80m and also 3D2TS, 3D2MT and 3D2SE. All contacts were made with wire antennas.
Thank you Tony for the contacts I have had with you over the years. 73 and I wish you the best, Denny WB9MSM
