Introducing RTQM, the Real Time QSO Manager From the QRZ Labs QRZ is pleased to announce the public Beta testing phase of the Real-Time QSO Manager, or RTQM for short. What is RTQM? Think of it as a spotting network based on real-time user input. It's a way to call CQ silently, and know exactly when stations are standing by. With RTQM, users can see who's available on all bands and all modes simultaneously. Rather than searching the bands endlessly for a weak signal, use RTQM to tune directly to the frequency and start listening. We are pleased to be entering our public Beta testing phase. You can access the feature here: https://rtqm.beta.qrz.com/ be aware that during the beta test phase, you may encounter a few issues with the software. The purpose of the beta phase is to identify and fix these issues before the general rollout of the service. Please visit this page for help and information about the use of the tool: https://rtqm.beta.qrz.com/help There is also a Beta Test Forum where you can post your insights and questions: https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?forums/rtqm-beta-test-forum.159/
This will bring more users onto the map. This can be one of the best tools in your toolbox. 73 from, The K0UO " Rhombic Antenna Farm" miles of wire in the Air & On the AIR daily
We ran a closed Beta with just a handful of users. We're now opening it up to the public for exactly that reason. We're excited to see how the tool runs with higher usage. 73 Jaime
To often I used frequencies, which are mostly nearly clean. And to that frequencies were contact can be great, but groups around dont care about. These new possibilities by the RTQM can be great for individual users.
Waiting on session filters implementation and on MacOS it looks like CTRL-Click = is Command Click used in Safari Web browser. I think it will be handy and seems to be easy to use. Glad to see capabilities of lock outs of possible abusers of the system. Well thought out. (edit) Regarding filtering i thought maybe more notification of something visual other than just selection like a separate box with total changes or panel showing whats been done.
Just trying the new program now, seems simple to use and see who and what mode they are operating. You need to add a option that after highlighted call sign, direct link to QRZ look up call sign for station details and log book contact input...other spotting programs offer this. Still a Good idea! This is cool. It would be cooler to update and modernize the website. Have you tried using it on mobile?
I guess you could interface out to the DXCluster network, but I don't think it is meaningful to interface in from it. The point of RTQM is to advertise one's interest in receiving calls, the DX Cluster network is generally populated by people that are hearing a callsign but have no knowledge of the intent of the operator they are reporting. By posting a session on RTQM, I am effectively saying that I'm on this frequency and mode and expect to stay here for some time, please call me. If I hear you on 20m and post an entry to the DX Cluster, I have no knowledge of your intents or wishes... Martin (G8FXC)
