Hi QRZ team. I am the chairman of our local radio club. My callsign has been on QRZ for 15 years or so and our club callsigns longer, plus, every year we generate one or two special event callsigns for which I also generate a QRZ page. Recently a club member queried why there were no entries in our Marconi Day QRZ logbook. This surprised me because I had never used a logbook on QRZ but I said no problem, I'll upload our consolidated log (I use the HRD logger and upload it to eQSL and LOTW after each event, so simple, right? This led me to discover that its not that easy, and raised the question of subscriptions. It seems that to have a logbook you have to subscribe. News to me,but fair enough. My question is what subscription is required? If I subscribe for my own call does that only work for me? In other words do we have to subscribe for every separate (very short-lived) special event call that I manage? If so, I doubt the club will want to do it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there is an easy way to solve this members problem. Advice would be appreciated.
You are mistaken. You do not need to have a subscription to have a logbook for any callsign you manage. You simply need to create the logbook for the event callsign using the dropdown on the logbook page showing your callsign (at the upper left). If you were to choose to subscribe, the subscription applies to the user and covers any managed callsign, but again, that's not necessary for uploading logs for special event stations (or to upload for any station, for that matter) 73 Steve KF8KI
