It is with considerable regret that we must announce that the March
2002 QRZ.COM DX Cruise has been postponed until 2003.

It looked as though when the trip was announced, on September 8, 2001,
that the cabins would sell out quickly. As we all know, however,
the events of September 11th changed everything around us and as a
result, the anticipated bookings never came in.

We had a great program in store for our participants, on a wonderful
sailing ship in a beautiful part of the world. We also had some
of the finest world class sponsors on tap to provide brand new
equipment and technical support for the operation.

The entire vacation and leisure industry is reeling at this time and
the effect is being felt all over the world. Major hotels in Hawaii
have closed off whole buildings and some smaller outfits are in or near
bankruptcy. It's been a disastrous season for the travel industry.

Our cruise was setup to sail with 40 cabins (80 people) on a ship that
holds around 200 passengers. Since the events of the past two months,
however, it has become apparent that we would not be able to fill these
40 cabins, not even by a third.

Rather than hold a DX cruise that had anything less than a spectacular
turnout, we decided to wait another year and hope by then that the
world has calmed down a bit and that the economy perhaps has
    rebounded.

We thank all of those who inquired and look forward to better and
more prosperous times in the coming year.

    73,

    -fred AA7BQ
